In this painting I was exploring the use of a poured first layer and then direct painting on top of that. I used a red, yellow and blue and poured these colors on a wet first layer. That gave unusual colors to the bear and background. I then worked with this underpainting to create an unusual depiction of a Grizzly that almost looks like he is getting lit by a rainbow.
